How We Started...
The Kennebunk Beach Triathlon Club was first conceived by a small
group of local triathlon enthusiasts in 2006 who would train together
on Thursday nights at Kennebunk Beach, enjoyed and valued the
camaraderie and desired a common identity for recognition at race
events. From this, the club was formally established in the spring of
2007. It presently has 61 members. We're open to all, regardless of
ability as we're made up of accomplished triathletes, those new to
the sport anxious to learn and excel in their own right, and
everything in-between.  Your participation will be welcomed.
What We Do...
During the season, you'll find us at Kennebunk Beach on
Thursday's at 6, engaged in a little friendly competition with our
Thursday Night Super Sprint, a 100yd or so swim, 8 mile bike and
2 mile shore run. After that, we're usually holed up at Allison's for
burgers and beer.
Monday nights, we don the wetsuits and take in a group swim at
Kennebunk Pond or the beach, Sunday mornings may see a group
ride around the shore between Biddeford Pool and Kennebunk.
On the weekend, we're probably off to a race somewhere in the
New England region and in September, our club runs the Mainiac
Triathlon to benefit the local YMCA.
In the off season, many of our members continue to train at the
Northern York County YMCA. Masters Swim classes are regularly in
session and Total Immersion clinics are scheduled periodically.
